Who we are...

AGI is a Material Interfacing Engineering Firm specializing in building investigation, design, and consulting. Since our incorporation in 2003, we have provided building envelope consulting, engineering and observation services oriented to the needs of city, county, state and federal government facilities. AGI has extensive experience in high humidity environments, high alpine conditions, desert condition, laboratories, commercial, government, and public facilities. Our 18 employees have a combined total of over 400 years of diversified building engineering and construction experience. Our Building Envelope Engineering department’s goal is to provide services that focus on building envelope assemblies, details and how all materials come together in the construction documents and in the field. We provide roof, wall and below grade investigations, design development, best solution detail development, specification development, construction document reviews, building envelope analysis, forensic evaluations, commissioning and installation verifications.

Our philosophy...

We realize that a successful building envelope relies on the use of proper materials, precise installation, and exhaustive communication between project team members. This process requires a good working relationship with the owner’s facility management, design specialists, contractors and other related parties. This starts with thorough communication of investigation data and a complex understanding of how the new construction building envelope materials work. This allows us to move through the entire process with the best possible accuracy in order to provide the best long-term solution. We also require the installation contractor to have a complete understanding of the project. This is accomplished by a stringent submittal review process that includes a building envelope integration and pre-construction meeting to examine all connections with all contractors that touch the building envelope. Next we ensure that the inspection and testing of materials is installed correctly and any problems are resolved as they occur, not after the fact. AGI utilizes its experienced quality assurance inspection team as well as the latest testing methods, equipment (Vector mapping, infrared, electrode moisture scanning; Window pressure window spray racks, ground penetrating radar, HERS rating equipment and uplift testing equipment) and inspection techniques for verification of substrate conditions, integration of details and installations conformance.
